In some countries such as England and Australia kids don't have much of a choice, the kids wear uniforms to school.
Wednesday night in Chambersburg there will a school board vote that may greatly restrict what kids could were to school with a much tighter dress code starting with the 2013-14 school year.
There are nine members of the school board and it looks like tonight's vote will be 5-4 the only question is which way it will go?
Joan Smith is a member of the Chambersburg School Board, she is one sure to vote against the change in the dress code.
We were surprised when we were told what wouldn't be allowed. "You've got to wear a collard shirts, ruby shirts, there is no t-shirts allowed, unless you wear sprit wear and what is wrong with kids wearing T-shirts?" Smith said.
No doubt it is going to be an interesting school board meeting, if you care what your kids wear to school you might want to be there, the fashion fireworks start tonight at the school administration building.
