The Susquehanna Township School District is coming under fire from some community leaders for recent personnel changes.
They say teacher transfers have created a void in role models for minority students at the high school level, where mentors are most important.
“When vacancies occur, I believe there needs to be a concerted effort by the administration to seek to fill those positions with teachers and administrators so that the teacher and administrator population reflects that of the student body,” cited Pastor Charles Melle of Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Concerned residents are holding a news conference Saturday. Superintendent Dr. Sue Kegerise tells CBS 21 News that she can not discuss personnel matters.
