SANDY UPDATE - 12:45 pm 10/28/12

It's important to cut through all the information you are hearing and focus on what will affect you and your family so you can not only prepare, but prepare correctly.

First, the worst for us will be Monday night and Tuesday.

For Central Pennsylvania, this will be a major wind event.  Don't focus on peak gusts, but rather sustained winds of 30-40 mph.  This will knock down trees and power lines.  Winds will pick up tonight and tomorrow.

Heavy rain will begin Monday afternoon.  We anticipate 4-6 inches of rain.  This will cause some creek and stream flooding but not major river flooding.  Rain will continue through Tuesday.

The center of the storm will move over us on Tuesday, bringing a major wind shift from east and northeast to northwest and west.  This will really bring in the colder air.

The pounding wind will continue through Wednesday.

Be prepared for prolonged power outages!
