Dauphin County Commissioners and the City of Harrisburg this morning both updated how much of a toll Sandy has taken on the county and the city.

It was bad, but not to the extent of damage from the floods last year.

There are still 43 roads that are closed in the county most of those being in Lower Paxton and Susquehanna Townships.

7,100 across the county still remain without power, but most of the power outages and road closures are due to power lines across the roads and we are not expecting the kind of prolonged power outages that we had to endure last year.

As of this hour there are still about 60 people in three shelters that are open in the county

With the exception of the courts all county services are now back in operation, even the jail will resume normal operations beginning tonight at 6.

With the election on Tuesday this is important the Voter Registration office at the administration building is open, that means you can get you absentee ballot today.

Also if you did have damage this is the time scammers are on the loose, so be sure to thoroughly check out any contractor before handing over any money.
