Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the former Penn State Athletic Director and Vice-President were back in court Friday to hear the newest charges against them.

These charges, which include Perjury, Obstruction, Criminal Conspiracy, are all connected to their involvement in the Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Scandal.

After today's arraignment was over and the defense lawyers spoke to the media, one name kept coming up. That name was Cynthia Baldwin. You may not have heard that name before. But you're sure to hear it a lot in the future.

“That's an issue that is going to be thoroughly and very aggressively litigated over the next year," said Caroline Roberto, Tim Curley's Attorney.

Roberto was speaking about Cynthia Baldwin. Baldwin is a former Justice of the PA Supreme Court and former General Council to Penn State. It's believed she may have represented Curley and Schultz before a grand jury in 2011 and later possibly testified in front of the grand jury against them.

Yesterday, Roberto filed a motion to dismiss the charges against her client based on Baldwin's appearance of a conflict of interest.  “We were stunned. We were flabbergasted that she would have testified against our clients at a – I assume – as the grand jury after representing them before the grand jury.”

Gary Schultz's attorney, Tom Farrell, also had something to say about Baldwin's involvement in this case.  “The charges are wrong. They are false. And now the newest charges are based on the testimony of a person who has betrayed her clients and her profession and testified falsely.”

The trial for Tim Curley and Gary Schultz for the original charges against them is scheduled to begin in January. But based off these new charges, that may be postponed. But no official decision has been made.
