The search continues for the man who robbed the Arby’s Sunday in the Park City Mall and forced the mall to be shut down.
As of right now, police do not have much to go on in terms of a description of this suspect.
They are relying on the public for information.
It happened Sunday night, as the mall was closing around 6 pm.
A man wearing black clothing with his head and face covered used a handgun to demand money from employees at the Arby’s in the Park City Mall.
By the police time arrived the suspect was gone.
The mall was shut down and stores were evacuated.
A search of the area, which included dogs, came up empty.
Initially the call came in as shots fired, but that turned out not to be the case.
The suspect did get away with some money but nobody was injured.
“It was a pretty big deal. This isn’t a typical convenience store being robbed that’s isolated. It’s inside a gigantic shopping mall. It presented its challenges.” said Todd Umstead with Lancaster City Police.
If you have any information on this armed robbery, you are asked to call the Lancaster City Police Department.
23-year old Lamar Reed and 21-year old Elizabeth Castillo have been charged with robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery.
Police say Sunday night just after five, Reed left the Arby's at the Park City Mall and came back around six.
He handed Castillo a note demanding money, that's when police say Castillo showed the note to the other employees and gathered the money while Reed waited in the back.
Then, Reed took off in Castillo's car.
Both are waiting arraignment at the Lancaster City Police Station.
