Manheim Township Police Log - August 10

Information provided by Manheim Township Police:

1)     Theft from Vehicle – Aug 4-5, 2012 800 blk of President Av-  Seth Cluley reported someone entered his 2002 Nissan Pick- Up and took a GPS unit valued at 150.00. 

The vehicle was parked in the driveway and there were no signs of forced entry.

2)      Theft – 1400hrs to 1430hrs Aug 8, 2012 – 1000 N Prince St (Caldwell Banker

And Select Properties) – Suzanne Crowley of Holbrook Ave Lancaster reported someone entered an “employees only” room and took a Sig Sauer P238 380 Cal. Handgun from her purse.  Loss is $400.00

3)     Public Drunkenness – 2229hrs Aug 8, 2012- 917 S. Prince St (Dirty Ol Tavern) – Jeffrey Magnusson, 55yrs old with no known address was cited after he was found laying outside heavily intoxicated.  An ambulance was called and took him to LRMC for treatment.  Citation filed

4)     Burglary – 0200hrs Aug 9, 2012 – 100 blk of Second Lock Rd (LT) – Rita Maldonaldo reported she heard a door slam shut at approx 0200hrs but didn’t find anything unusual.  In the morning she discovered her purse had been taken from a table in the dining room.  Loss approx. $270.00.

5)     Theft from Vehicle – August 9, 2012 – 700 blk of Wyncroft Terrace (LT) – David Mitchell reported someone stole the catalytic converter from his 1999 Chevy Lumina.  Loss approx $300.

6)     Theft – 1025hrs August 9, 2012- 2040 Lititz Pk (Overlook Golf Course) – Willie Anderson of Lancaster Court, Lancaster Pa reported someone took his bag of golf clubs while they were sitting outside the pro shop.  Shortly thereafter, a subject tried to sell a set of clubs at Play-It –Again Sports located at Granite Run Dr.  An employee at Overlook went to Play It Again to see if these were the same clubs at which time the suspect fled on foot from Play It Again.  The clubs were left behind and recovered but not the golf bag.  The clubs are valued at approx $2100.00 and the bag at $200.  Inv cont.

7)     Retail Theft – 1713hrs Aug 9, 2012 – 1605 Lititz Pk (Giant Food) – Justin Carman, 22yrs old of Gregg Cir Ephrata, Pa was charged after he concealed a steak valued at $7.97 and left the store.  Carman had a prior conviction for retail theft making this a misdemeanor offense.  Charges to be filed.    

8)     Burglary – 0001hrs to 0130hrs August 10, 2012 – 1300 blk of Hunsicker Rd. – John Moeller reported someone entered their home via an unlocked garage door and took $200 in cash and car/house keys.  Moeller and his wife were asleep in the home at the time of the burglary.   

9)     Theft From Vehicles Arrests – 0102hrs Aug 10, 2012- 1200 blk of Elm Ave (LT) – An officer observed the interior light on in a vehicle and further inv. revealed someone appeared to have rummaged through the vehicle.  The officer made contact with the vehicle owner, Susan Weiler of Elm Av. and confirmed a GPS unit had been taken.  Other patrols saturated the area and shortly thereafter took two juveniles and an adult into custody. The juveniles were tot parents and the adult was tot Central Booking on an outstanding warrant from LCPD.  This inv. is ongoing as other victims are expected.
