A Bishop McDevitt student was beaten on his way home from school and two other students were shot at with BB guns while trying to enter school.

Administrators at Bishop McDevitt High School say they are taking precautions to keep students safe.

Students and parents have all been notified about the violence that happened earlier this week.  Police are investigating, but school administrators say they're not taking any chances, a few things will change to help keep the kids safe.

Sister Mary Anne Bednar, Principal at Bishop McDevitt High School says as students walked to school on Wednesday, they were shot at by a BB gun.

She also says earlier this week a student was beaten up on his way home from school.

Both students and parents have been notified about the safety concerns.  Several safety measures had to be put into place.  The football field is now open for parking for both staff and students.

They are having parents use the back door for drop off and she said she has also asked those who walk to school to be alert and to be aware of their surroundings, they should not be on the phone.

Harrisburg Police are still investigating.
