A Lower Paxton Township man awoke early Thursday morning to find robbers holding a gun to his head and demanding money.
The break in happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday at an apartment in the 5000 Block of Trent Road. Police say there were two intruders, and maybe a third. They accosted the sleeping victim.
Police say the suspects tied up the victim after waking him up and ransacked the apartment, apparently looking for money.
The victim’s brother came home and heard noises inside. He walked to the back of the apartment where he was threatened by an armed, mask man.
Lower Paxton Police Lieutenant Gary Seefeldt says in the vast majority of these cases, the victims were targeted. “It’s one of those things. Yes, there’s criminals out there that did this. You and I are probably safe from those people. We’re not sure why they went to this apartment. But they went to that apartment for a reason.”
The lieutenant says investigators are not sure how many people were involved. At this point they have no descriptions of the intruders, and they are attempting to determine what if anything was taken. The one victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Police say the last two home invasions in the township happened about four months ago. Arrests have been made in both of those incidents. If you have information about this case, contact Lower Paxton Township Police.
