This grant award will be used for the support of Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland & Perry Counties (DVSCP) Emergency Shelter Program. The grant period will begin on November 1, 2012 and end on October 31, 2013..
Abuse can be prevented – eliminating this crime from our communities depends upon our knowledge about the problem and the actions that we take as a result. Agencies at all levels in the community can best respond to the needs of victims of domestic violence if they are trained and organized to do so.
DVS/CP is a 22 year old private, nonprofit organization which provides services to those who experience violence in their homes. DVS/CP provides a 24 hour toll-free hotline, emergency shelter, individual, supportive counseling, legal advocacy, victim support groups, information and referral, community education/prevention programs, and systems advocacy.
