Police have charged a mentally ill Manhattan man with stabbing his mother to death and setting her apartment on fire.
Cops say David Elias, 31, stabbed his 55-year-old mother, Ruth Montano, multiple times in the torso, then set her East Harlem apartment ablaze about 4:25 p.m. Saturday.
He is also accused of stabbing his 32-year-old brother in the torso and head inside their mother’s Park Ave. apartment.
