For seven years, the Lend-A -Hand Organization in Camp Hill has traveled to disaster areas across the country.

They started with Hurricane Katrina, and are now heading to help rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.

They have their bags packed, coffee hot and are now ready to lend a hand.

A van is taking the members of Lend-A-Hand in Camp Hill, to what Sandy left behind.

George Elliot, a member of Lend-A-Hand says it all starts by cleaning up. "We begin with cleaning up all the houses, mucking is what we call it."

The group will head throughout New Jersey, helping the victims and the volunteers. Once everything is cleaned up, a new process starts. "Once everything is dried up, we take people back and start the rebuilding process," Elliot said.

Even though it's a lot of work, they say they receive more than they give. "You have helped some of the most in need people that there are, and there's tremendous satisfaction in that."

So as they head down to help those in New Jersey, they need others to help, too. They need gift cards to places like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Target.  The cards will help offset the costs of building materials and household items destroyed by the storm.

To donate gift cards or volunteer, visit Lend-A-Hand's website.  To find the website click on Find It.
