UPDATE:
Students were forced to evacuate their schools in Susquehanna Township after a student called in a bomb threat.
Police brought in bomb sniffing dogs to make sure it was safe, before letting students back into the buildings.
Police say a 14-year-old student called in the bomb threat, saying that the school would blow up in two hours. Police were able to track the phone call to locate the student, but to be safe, they searched all the buildings.
"I got one of those recordings saying that there was a bomb threat at Susquehanna Township School District,” mother Kerry Jackson, who has three children in the school district, told us. “I rushed out here right away."
Around 945 a.m., the school district received the bomb threat and sent the following message to parents:
"This in an important message from the Susquehanna Township School District. This morning we received a call of a bomb threat at one of our school buildings. The Susquehanna Township Police have been contacted and all buildings have been evacuated."
The message continued to say that all students and faculty were in safe areas and that police were searching the buildings.
It's a scary thought to come around that curve and see all the kids standing out here in the field,” Jackson continued. “Some of them without jackets and it's freezing out here."
Kerry Jackson has three kids in the Susquehanna Township School District, with his youngest at Thomas W. Holtzman Elementary School.
"My two oldest at the high school, I just got a phone call from them, and they were asking me to pick them up,” Jackson added. “So I guess they evacuated over there."
Police went through each of the buildings with bomb-sniffing dogs, and eventually all the buildings were cleared and the students were able to go back to class.
"it's really scary. I'm lost with words here. I don't know what to say. I mean, why this township, what's the reason for this. I don't know," Jackson concluded.
Police say they did not find anything suspicious in the building.
They have the 14-year-old caller in custody and he is being charged with terroristic threats and threatening to use weapons of mass destruction.
