The Pennsylvania State Police was recently presented with the 2012 Liquor Law Enforcement Agency of the Year award by the National Liquor Law Enforcement Association (NLLEA).

While the award was given in recognition of the work performed throughout the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, it specifically noted the bureau’s efforts to prevent impaired driving as well as the exceptional enforcement operations to prevent illegal gambling throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“This achievement is truly a great honor for the Pennsylvania State Police and all the dedicated personnel in the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement,” said State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan. “I am extremely proud of our liquor enforcement program in Pennsylvania and the tremendous public safety benefit it provides to our citizens.”

The award also recognizes the bureau’s outstanding efforts to work with our federal, state and local partners to curb illegal gambling, added Noonan.

The award was presented at the NLLEA Conference Banquet, which was attended by representatives of liquor enforcement agencies from all 50 states.
