It is always exciting when a solider comes home safety from war, but there is nothing quite like when a Dad comes home from Afghanistan and his young daughters don't even know he is back in Pennsylvania.

That is what happened today at Lenkerville Elementary School in Millersburg.

It has been more than six months since 5th grader Kaylee and 3rd Grader Lucie had seen their Dad, Air Force Staff Sgt. Ken Clouser as he was severing the nation in Afghanistan.

He was able to Skype with his kids on Sundays, but it was an emotional time. His two daughters have no idea what is about to happen. The whole school was in on the celebration.

There were lots of tears and cheers as family went from the classroom to the library, where one word said it best.

Kaylee Clouser, Ken's daughter:
"Amazed, I was really excited and amazed."

Heather Clouser, Ken's wife:
"It was very exciting, I was so happy to be able to do it."

The family is happy that no future deployments are scheduled. For tonight the plan is simple, go out and eat some pizza.

In spite of our many different beliefs, the bottom line is that we are all Americans, grateful to those who work to keep us free and always a thrill to welcome them home.
