A popular gas station chain in the area is apparently out of gas and it stems from Hurricane Sandy.
And for some, it’s causing some pain at the pump.
Kathleen Wolfe, customer:
I didn’t fill up yesterday and I am on my way to Maryland for a baby shower and I’m on empty.
When Kathleen Wolfe pulled up to the pumps, she saw signs plastered on the pumps, saying they’re out of regular 87 and 89.
CBS 21 news reached out to the Sheetz Corporation and they tweeted us saying:
On facebook, they went on to say the petroleum industry has been stressed by Sandy and are calling it a brief interruption.
From facebook:
"Since Super Storm Sandy hit, the petroleum supply chain has been stressed, but to the best of our knowledge this is a brief interruption in distribution."
But Sheetz stressed it’s a brief interruption, and should be restored early this week.
And you might see some signs saying $9.99 for gas, apparently that’s Sheetz code for out of gas. They’re not charging that much for any type of gas.
