Police in Cumberland County arrested a man for allegedly locking a child in a bathroom cabinet.
It happened yesterday evening around five at the Cumberland Valley Motel in the first block of East Main Street in New Kingstown.
Silver Spring Township Police found the five-year old child alone in a motel room and they say the child had numerous bumps and bruises.
The child was taken to an area hospital for observation.
Through investigation, police say the child was locked in a bathroom cabinet and had been hanging from a closet rod by a belt.
Police say the child had other injuries consistent withe being struck, kicked and choked.
Police arrested 19-year old Miles Sherman of Camp Hill and charged him with false imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment.
