A decision still needs to be made concerning the future of the officers.

Dozens of people showed up to Tuesday night's meeting in protest of possible cuts to their law enforcement. Shortly after the meeting started, Council members went behind closed doors for a private meeting, but came out without a decision.

Borough Officials say the cuts would be made to help save money for next year's budget, but many others are against it.

We will bring you any updates as soon as they become available.

The Middletown Borough Council is set to adopt it's 2013 general fund budget, Tuesday night.

But as proposed, eight full-time positions must be abolished to balance it. There is talk that some of those job cuts could be police officers and that has some residents up in arms.

One resident believes the Borough Council has gone wild. He's disappointed that he only learned about Tuesday's special meeting yesterday after someone spotted the notice in a classified ad.

He doesn't know why Councilman Sites failed to show up for his own news conference, but he hopes he has the opportunity to address council.

Councilman sites called on concerned citizens to gather here at the municipal building to protest cuts in the police department.

The meeting begins at 7.
