Dear Parents/Guardians:
A female student from Reynolds Middle School reported that a man ran and grabbed her this morning on her way to school. The incident took place in the one hundred block of Nevin Street between 7:50 and 8:00 a.m. A pedestrian was nearby and witnessed the encounter; however, police were unable to locate him so we do not have a complete description of the individual.
Although the incident did not take place on school property, district administrators are working with the Lancaster Police and our School Resource Officer (SRO) to address the situation. As an added precaution, you or your child may notice an increased presence of police and school district administrators near the school and surrounding areas.
The safety of our students is our first priority. You can help us by speaking to your children to emphasize the importance of being aware of their surroundings and walking in pairs or groups to and from school, if possible. Encourage your child to report suspicious activity to the police and/or school officials.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
Sincerely,
Stephen R. Sohonyay Principal
