Lower Allen Township Police are investigating an accident involving a school bus that happened Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Gettysburg Road at 30th street around 3:02 p.m. A West Shore School District bus was making a left turn from 30th Street onto east bound Gettysburg Rd, when it was struck by a west bound Jeep.
Immediately after the accident, the three teenage occupants of the Jeep took off running north on 30th Street. After being questioned by a witness, the three returned to the accident before police arrived.
All three teens were reportedly not wearing their seatbelts and were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for evaluation.
The school bus had 29 students from Lemoyne Middle School on the bus at the time of the accident, plus the driver. No one on the bus was injured.
Lower Allen Police are investigating if speed was a factor in the accident.
