Here we go again—some Twitter-obsessed person has apparently named a newborn girl "Hashtag" after the "#" symbol attached to trending topics on the microblogging service.

The Facebook post announcing the birth of Hashtag Jameson was first spotted by Awkward Messages. The blog scrubbed out the name of the spelling-challenged parent who told Facebook friends earlier this week that the baby girl "was born at 10 oclock last nite ... weys 8pounds and i luv her so much!!!!!!"

Perhaps the unknown individual can set up a play date for little Hashtag with Like Adler and Facebook Ibrahim, two kids similarly bestowed with social media-related names last year. Down the road, a fitting babysitter for the trio might be Oliver Google Kai, the Swedish kid who will be hitting his teens when Hashtag, Like, and Facebook are around five or six.

Like Adler, born in May 2011, was named after Facebook's famous thumbs-up button by Israeli couple Lior and Vardit Adler, who told the press they wanted to call their daughter "something unique." Facebook Ibrahim was given her name a few months earlier by a doting Egyptian dad who wanted to commemorate the role the social network played in the anti-government protests that led to the overthrow of Egyptian dictator Muhammad Hosni Sayyid Mubarak.

It's not clear yet if Hashtag Jameson is a real name like Facebook Ibrahim and Like Adler. There have been hoaxes of this sort before—case in point, a recent story about a little Romanian girl supposedly named Yahoo! That turned out to be entirely made up.
