Gateway Medicaid members in Cumberland County will have one less hospital helping them out should they need medical care come January 1.
Carlisle Regional Medical Center confirms as of January 1, they will no longer be participating as an in-network hospital for Gateway Medicaid members. According to the Medical Center the change comes as a response to demands from Gateway.
"Gateway has demanded that our hospital accept a contract renewal that decreased the rates to be paid to the hospitals substantially while hospital costs have continued to increase," the hospital said in a statement.
In the statement that Carlisle Regional Medical Center released, they noted it is important for Pennsylvania members with Gateway Medicaid insurance to know they have the right to change their managed care plan at any time to insure their provider of choice is in network
Carlisle Regional Medical Center also confirmed the termination with Gateway Medicaid does not affect members with Gateway Medicare, their members are still in network.
