UPDATE:
Police in a Lancaster County neighborhood are searching for burglars who are breaking into houses and stealing stuff while people are home!
Police say this rash of burglaries started on Black Friday. These aren't happening in one specific neighborhood, they're scattered throughout the Borough of Columbia.
It started on Black Friday. While people were inside their home, relaxing in the evening, burglars broke in, and quietly stole things like cash, firearms and small electronic devices, and then snuck out.
Columbia Borough Police say that they got in, through open windows and doors.
The burglaries were not isolated. They happened at numerous locations throughout Columbia, including the 600 Block Plane Street, the 900 Block of Plane Street, the South 9th Street, the 100 block Chestnut Street, the 1st Block of North 4th Street and the 100 block of South 6th Street.
Police say whoever is doing this is very brazen and should be considered armed and dangerous.
"If someone is in the process of being robbed, the most important thing is to retreat to safety if possible and call police immediately," explained Columbia Police Sergeant Adam Miller.
Nobody has been hurt in any of these burglaries.
Police are reminding you to lock your windows and doors. Don't leave valuables where people can see them through a window.
And if you have information about these burglaries you're asked to call police.
