CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Trustees at Wilson College in Chambersburg are about to vote on whether to convert the school to a fully co-educational institution.

The board of the liberal arts school founded in 1869 plans to consider the proposal Saturday.

Men are currently allowed if they're age 22 or older, but the vote would permit them as regular students next year, and let them live on campus the year after that.

Wilson has been running operational budget deficits in three of the past four years, and currently has a $31 million debt.

The College for Women's undergraduate enrollment is 316, less than half its peak number. The total enrollment is about 700, and the proposal aims to double that figure by 2020.
