A 13-year-old in Dauphin County is well on his way to reaching his goal of collecting 2,000 toys!

But these toys aren't just for the boy, in fact none of them are, and he's fine with that.

13-year-old Isaiah Owens loves baseball, but Isaiah is the real "hit" when it comes to his generosity!

The Dauphin County teen has been helping other kids for the last 10 years, that's right. since he was three he's been raising awareness and money for organizations like Ronald McDonald house and Toys for Tots.

This year, his goal for Toys for Tots is to collect 2,000 toys for 1,000 kids. His reason is a pretty simple one.

“Sometimes they can't afford toys for Christmas so it feels heart-warming to give them a Christmas,” Isaiah told us.

Isaiah is collecting the toys through benefits, including a softball game held a few weeks ago!

“Having Isaiah out here with softball games, the toy drives, the skate parties, everything that he does is huge for us,” explained Derek Moedernorfer, local Toys for Tots coordinator with the U.S. Marine Corps. “Granted he may bring in only 2,000 toys, but when you take a step back and look at the big picture, that's 1,000 kids who will get toys for Christmas.”

There's a party bus unique limousine is donating so Isaiah can collect the toys. As of Friday morning he only needed 544 toys to reach his goal, and he's sure to do it at the Toys for Tots parade.

Isaiah will be spending his Saturday afternoon once again thinking of others.

“When I was 13 years old, I was worried about what I was getting for Christmas, I wasn't worried about the neighbor down the street, or what a kid three counties over was getting, I was worried about me,” Moedernorfer told us. “So to see him out here doing this with his peer group and older peers is really great.”

Isaiah will be the Toys for Tots parade on Saturday and will also be holding several other events to collect toys before the holiday.
