The United States Attorney's Office announced that following a four day trial, two men who conducted a major credit card scheme spanning across the Mid-Atlantic states were convicted.
The men used over 100 credit card numbers from over 25 banks and credit unions.
Ramil Kismat of New York and Sergey Sorokin of New Jersey were convicted on November 29 for both bank and wire fraud. The men used both credit and debit card numbers in scheme.
The scheme was uncovered by investigators for Target Stores in the Harrisburg area. The men were seen entering the store multiple times to purchase gift cards with multiple different credit cards. Most of the cards were regularly declined.
