As the holidays quickly approach one local organization says now is the perfect time to talk with aging relatives to explore the options for care later in life.

In the booklet created by the Pennsylvania Homecare Association there are worksheets and guides to see what's the best fit for you or your loved one as you look into what's best for the next chapter in life.

Jennifer Battista of the Pa Homecare Association:
“It’s kind of like the birds and the bees talk with your teenager.. its kind of a rite of passage.”

The Pennsylvania Homecare Association created a booklet looking into care later in life

Battista:
“This resource guide explains all the options and how people can access it. We really encourage people to sit down with the resources, do the worksheet, see what you need, outline what they want.”

It’s a discussion to have now rather than later.
Scott Miller Of Garden Spot Village Retirement Community:
"If a crises does arrive then when your having out the hospital you'll have choices and options"

Planning for later in life care isn't about heading straight into the nursing or retirement home. It explores care at home as well. You can pick up this free guide from the pennsylvania homecare association.
