UPDATE:
On December 7, police charged Darrel Hill, 25 of Shippensburg, with aggravated assault and carrying a firearm without a license for the incident that occurred on December 1. A pink .40 caliber pistol was found in the investigation.
Hill was arraigned and was released on $100,000 unsecured bail.

A 20-year-old male was shot in the torso in an incident near Shippensburg University Saturday morning.
Shippensburg University students received an alert via e-mail or text message just after 1:00 a.m. that said,
Pennsylvania State Police Carlisle say around 1:00 a.m. a group of people approached an apartment in Sunbeam Court, an apartment complex close to campus, wanting to start a fight with a person they believed was inside. Police say during the incident someone threw a chair that broke a window. A black male showed a pistol and fired a single shot through the broken window.
The bullet hit the victim in the torso. He was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and released.

"SUALERT: Shooting reported at Sunbeam Court near campus. Shooter may be fleeing toward campus. He is described as a black male with dreadlocks and wearing blue jeans. Take precautions and contact police with information."
