Hundreds of members of the Harrisburg community turned out to show support and to honor the memory of the woman killed by a Harrisburg police officer last week.
Community members and strangers united at the Emanuel Church of God in Christ on North 16th Street in Harrisburg to show love and support for the family of Shulena Weldon.
In her short 36 years of life she obviously impacted many. The pews at the church were filled, and hundreds waited in line to say a final goodbye.
Family members say they appreciate all the support that has poured in since last week. They add it's obvious she will be missed by many.
“We thank God people are here covering us with the spirit of love, thank God for the beauty and the love and hearts of the people,” stated her step-father, Robert Brown.
Balloons sit at the intersection of 20th and Market where she lost her life last week after being hit by a police car.
After the service, Weldon was laid to rest at the Paxtang Cemetery.
