Police have now identified a man who was killed at a motel off Route 30 in Lancaster over the weekend.

This started as just a routine medical call, but now police in Lancaster County are saying Jeffrey Brent was murdered Sunday at the Budget Host Inn.

“It’s just sad that that would even happen,” commented Justin Stauffer, who is working at the Budget Host Inn.

Stauffer was shocked when he heard the news that Jeffrey Brent was just murdered where he works.

“That’s pretty crazy and wild that that kind of this would even go on around here,” Stauffer told us. “I wouldn’t want that happening when I walk out to my car.”

Early Sunday morning, police were called to the Budget Host Inn on the 2100 block of Lincoln Highway East for a cardiac arrest. But when they got there, they realized it was much more.

According to police, the 24-year-old victim was dead on arrival, lying on the floor of the lobby. It’s believed he was attacked in the rear parking lot and somehow made his way into the motel.

The 400 block of East Main Street in Mountville is the last known address where Brent had lived. But nobody we spoke to here had ever heard of him.

As for Justin Stauffer, he will just keep working at the hotel while being a little more aware.

“I hope the family of whoever died is alright, you know,” concluded Stauffer.

If you have any information on this homicide, you are asked to call the East Lampeter Township Police Department.
