In Dauphin County, First Assistant District Attorney Fran Chardo announced his candidacy for judge Tuesday.
Chardo has served the District Attorney's office for nearly 20 years and says he felt obligated to run based on his experiences.
“I've been at many, many crime scenes, I've seen the mayhem caused by this crime wave and judges are in a unique position to address that,” addressed Chardo. “We need highly qualified judges that know the laws and cam make calls and that's what I want to do.”
Chardo was the first to put his name on the ballot for the 2013 election, after current judge Lawrence Clark Junior faces mandatory retirement.
