Congressman-Elect Scott Perry announced his committee assignments for the 113th session of Congress.
For the next two years, he will be serving on the Foreign Affairs, Homeland Security and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA) will chair the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The Homeland Security Committee will be chaired by Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX). The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will be chaired by neighboring Pennsylvania Congressman Bill Shuster.
The 113th Congress will begin in January.
The Foreign Affairs Committee considers legislation that impacts the diplomatic community, which includes the Department of State, the Agency for International Development (USAID), the Peace Corps and the United Nations.
The Homeland Security Committee has jurisdiction over issues such as border and maritime security, counterterrorism, cyber security, emergency preparedness and security of our transportation systems.
The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation including aviation, maritime, roads, bridges, mass transit and railroads. It also oversees water management, pipelines, the Army Corps of Engineers and the US Coast Guard.
Perry's subcommittee assignments have not been announced, as of December 12.
