Gene G. Veno was appointed as the Harrisburg School District’s Chief Recovery Officer.
Veno, 62, of Lower Paxton Township, graduated from West Scranton High School in Lackawanna County and earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from Elizabethtown College and a master’s degree in public administration from Marywood University.
“Gene’s experience in fiscal management and executive leadership will benefit Harrisburg City School District and the community at large,” Tomalis said. “I am confident that Gene will work with the community to restore financial stability to the school district.”
David G. Meckley was appointed as the York City School District’s Chief Recovery Officer.
Meckley, 61, of Spring Garden Township, York County, graduated from Mercersburg Academy in Franklin County. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Cornell University.
“David has a stellar career in executive leadership and financial management, as well as an unwavering commitment to serving his community,” Tomalis said. “York City School District stands to benefit from David’s experience on restoring fiscal stability to the district. I am confident that working with the school board and superintendent, he will develop a long-term financial plan to ensure that students receive a quality education.”
