Central Pennsylvania uses their tools to cultivate their gardens in the warm weather and remove snow in the Winter.
Now Ames True Temper is cultivating its workforce by hiring dozens more for distribution and assembly jobs at it's Carlisle Distribution Center.
Jacob Haas, Carlisle Center Distribution and Operations Manager, says they have entry level positions as well as jobs where manufacturing experience will get you a higher level position.
And training is provided for associates, so experience isn't necessary.
Haas says the reason they're able to expand and provide these extra jobs is because they fulfill a need regardless of the economy, providing not only stable tools, but stable employment as well.
Haas says, "we're a good company to work for, very stable. Think about it for a second. When the economy is good and there's a lot of construction, we sell a lot of tools. When the economy is bad and people have less income, they start to do more 'do it yourself' projects, they start to build gardens, we sell a lot of tools."
Haas says you can apply on line and they have a referral program -- so a recommendation from a current Ames employee -- will go a long way.
