A turkey barn went up in flames Thursday afternoon in Adams County.
The fire began around 5:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Russell Tavern Road in Butler Township.
By the time fire crews got on scene, the barn was engulfed in flames.
The fire went to a second alarm to provide more manpower and tankers to help fight the blaze.
Crews from Adams, Franklin, Cumberland and also Carroll County and Frederick County, Maryland were dispatched to fight the fire. The American Red Cross and State Police Fire Marshal were called to the scene as well.
