Police in Lancaster County are looking for a man who beat up, then tied-up three elderly women yesterday morning.

Police say as they sat restrained inside their Clay Township home, he ransacked the place, expressing his hatred and rage towards the Mennonite faith.

After the suspect fled, police say these women were tied up for four hours, until a family member found them.

It was 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning when police say a man posing as an insurance salesman tricked two elderly women into letting him into their Clay Township home, in the 300 block of Indiantown Road.

Police say he then attacked them using a stung gun and his fists.

They say he tied them up, covered their faces and began looking for cash and other things.

Police say a third elderly woman came home and the man beat her and tied her up as well.

Then, they say while the man ransacked the house, he talked about his rage against the Mennonite faith, which the women believed in.

Police say he then read from a bible and vandalized it.

Police say he took off and left the women tied up.

Four hours later, a relative found them and called police.

Police describe the suspect as a white man between 30 and 40 years old with brownish dark hair, 5-feet 10-inches tall with a very neat appearance.

They believe he's driving a blue, Dodge Durango with an ornamental license plate on the front.

The three women are being treated at Ephrata Hospital.

Police believe they were targeted because of their faith.

They're still looking for this man who attacked them.

If you have any information, please call police.
