The Office of Administration announced that non-essential employees under the Governor’s jurisdiction who work in the Capitol Complex, Harrisburg area, Pittsburgh, Reading, Scranton and Philadelphia State Office Buildings are authorized to leave work two hours prior to their scheduled quitting time today, due to inclement weather.

Non-essential employees working in state office buildings located in other areas will receive specific instructions from their agencies.

Essential employees, particularly those working in public safety, will continue to work as scheduled.

Information is available on the Alerts & Advisories page at www.pa.gov.

In addition, individuals can subscribe to notifications via email or text message to your pager or cell phone at AlertPA, located at https://alert.pa.gov. All you have to do is set-up an account and opt to receive “Commonwealth Employee Delays/Closings.” There is no cost for this service.
