The ultimate sacrifice, giving your life to protect your country. Thursday in Cumberland County, a family honored a Marine that did just that.

Lance Corporal Nicholas Morrison was killed while on active duty in Iraq back in 2004.

Representative Stephen Bloom and Morrison's family gathered as part of Route 233 was dedicated in remembrance of his sacrifice. A reminder that his bravery did not go unnoticed.

“It means that every time somebody drives past this sign, they are not only going to remember Nick, and everything that he did for his country, but for all the service men that are still over in Iraq and fighting for our country,” stated sister Samantha Bastion. “It's just a continual reminder of the brave men and women that serve our country.”

Morrison was killed after a roadside bomb struck his Humvee while on patrol in Iraq.
