UPDATE:

A man reported missing from his home was found dead Thursday morning.

The 87-year-old had early stages of Alzheimer’s; he was last seen at his home just after noon Wednesday.

John Kilheffer’s body was found 400 yards from his home in an area of tall thick grass.

The 87-year-old went missing Wednesday afternoon and was last seen at the farm in the 1200 block of Long Lane in Conestoga Township.

Kilheffer suffered from early Alzheimer’s, it is believed he walked away from his home, out into the frigid weather.

More than five dozen rescue team members, police and firefighters searched for him Wednesday evening, with about a dozen continuing to comb the farm fields overnight.

Rescuers found his body just before ten Thursday morning.

At this time it is believed that Kilheffer died as a result of being out in the conditions and likely suffered hypothermia.
