The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission wants to remind motorists that toll rates will increase on Jan. 6 by 10% for cash customers and 2% for E-ZPass customers.
With the increase, 17% savings on tolls compared to cash.
The new rates will be in effect starting at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.
The rates are expected to bring in $25 million in revenue in 2013.
Motorists using cash on the Southern Beltway near the Pittsburgh International Airport will see a 50% increase, and E-Zpass customers will not see an increase. This is increase is higher because that section of the turnpike has never been increased since its opening in 2006.
