York County officers involved in the fatal shooting of a theft suspect outside a K-Mart have been cleared to return to duty.
After reviewing the scene video and police reports the York County District Attorney says the officers acted appropriately.
It happened Saturday night on Haines Road in Springettsbury Township.
State police say security guards saw Shultz stealing some jewelry and noticed he was armed with a knife.
When officers approached Shultz he fought with them , forcing one of them to taser him.
We're told he continued to fight with police outside of the store, went at them with the knife, and then tried to go back inside.
That's when officials say the officers opened fire. Shultz later died at york hospital.
