UPDATE:
A York County cold case is closer to being cracked after police arrest a man they say pulled the trigger.
Monica Schmeyer died after she was shot to death during a home invasion in 2010.
The arrest warrant says Timothy Jacoby is responsible but what isn't clear is the motive. Now those close to the investigation say it isn’t over just yet.
March of 2010 in Glenville, police discovered Monica Schmeyer dead of a single gunshot in her remote home off Trone Rd. A mid-afternoon 911 hang up lead them to the scene.
Tuesday, over two years later police charged Timothy Jacoby with her murder. Neighbors shared a sigh of relief.
“It was scary,” one neighbor told us. “Relief that it’s solved and they have gotten him.”
But family and sources close to the investigation are not calling this solved just yet.
Monica's brother did not want to speak on camera and would only say there is still a lot to do, calling Jacoby's arrest the beginning of the end.
What is clear in the affidavit is the evidence against the convicted felon.
“Neighbors saw a man walking with similar physical characteristics of Timothy Jacoby," stated the affidavit.
They also placed a van that looked like the one he drove at the time at the scene.
In a 2010 interview with her daughter she told us Schmeyer did not work and spent most of her time with family and church. Her and her ex-husband had a close relationship and she was not interested in dating.
The affidavit also outlines Schmeyer’s ex-husband’s whereabouts that day, including a phone call to Monica shortly before she died.

York County Police say an arrest is made in a more than two-year cold case.
An arrest warrant issued Tuesday names an already incarcerated man as the suspect.
Timothy Jacoby is now charged with murder among other charges for the 2010 home invasion and shooting death of Monica Schmeyer.
One thing that is missing in the affidavit is a motive. We are told that this arrest is not the end of the investigation.
The DA's office says Timothy Jacoby is responsible for Schmeyer's death. Two neighbors put jacoby at the scene in Monica Schmeyer's rural neighborhood around the time of her 911 call in the afternoon of March 31, 2010.
The neighbors also matched Jacoby to a silver van his employer confirmed the suspect was using at the time.
State Police matched a gun owned by Jacoby as the same gun used to kill Schmeyer.
