The American Red Cross is offering First Aid and CPR/AED Courses across the area.
The courses will occur in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties.
Each year, more than 5 million people learn how to save a life in American Red Cross training classes and people in Cumberland County can join the ranks of these everyday heroes by taking a class now.
The First Aid and CPR/AED course teaches people how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to prevent and respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. Course participants also learn how to control bleeding as well as how to care for seizures and other sudden illnesses.
With the Approval of Act No. 12, on July 5th, by Governor Corbett amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in particular rights and immunities, further providing for Good Samaritan, a person who gives reasonable aid to strangers in grave physical distress, civil immunity for use of automated external defibrillator and for non-medical good Samaritan civil immunity, now is a great time to learn the skills that can save a life.
The Red Cross is offering courses throughout the area. For details on when and where they will be held, visit redcross.org/training or call 1-800-RED-CROSS for details and to register for a class.
