UPDATE:
Police have released this report:

_______________________________________________

Police in Dauphin County are investigating a major trauma accident where a man on a bicycle was hit by a car.

There's an interesting twist to the story, paramedics were able to respond not in minutes, but in just a few seconds!

Even though this looked like a horrible accident, the man who was hit on his bike, couldn't have been at a better place because McDonalds was packed with paramedics.

John Logan, who's the director of operations for Life Team, says there were many first responders inside, taking part in a fundraiser. The restaurant sits just a few feet away from the crash site at Paxton and 29th Streets.

A McDonald's employee told the paramedics inside the restaurant about the accident and they ran outside to help the people involved.

"I think that it was very fortunate that we were given the opportunity to do a fundraiser,” explained Director of Operations for Life Team John Logan. “They chose this night and fortunately for all involved, while we were here performing a public relations event for the community, the accident unfortunately occurred right in front of us but the timing of this made a big difference in the patient."

The man on the bike was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The driver's condition isn't known.

We expect to learn more from Swatara Township Police as they finish their investigation.
