Local store sells winning Cash 5 ticket, waiting to see who winner is

Someone who either lives or recently passed through York County is a whole lot richer Monday night after they won over 300,000 in a lottery drawing.

$371,000 to be exact, and no one has claimed it yet. But where it's sold, they hope they know the person.

At Smoker’s Express in New Cumberland, the big winning ticket is the center of attention. Friday's Cash 5 drawing matched a ticket purchased at the store for $371,000.

Customers are impressed!

“It's actually amazing for a small community,” one shopper told us. “It's a really big deal.“

“I don't have the luck that person had, I wish I did,” exclaimed another shopper.

Workers hope they know the big winner.

“Oh yeah a lot of repeat customers,” commented one employee. “We might!”

With proof of the prize front and center, it's hard not to imagine how you'd spend it.

“If I won I would actually pay off debt, give some money toward kid’s college tuition,” explained one person. “Have a two-year-old right now, where it would go and save it up.”

“Definitely hurting being unemployed and laid off right now, that would definitely help out,” one person told us.

It's not the first time the store has hit the jackpot, employees say five or six years ago someone won $105,000 there.

Winners have a year to claim their jackpot.
