The man accused of starting a fire at a York motel is heading to trial.

When he was arrested, Wayne Taylor admitted to setting the Rodeway Inn on George Street on fire.

Wayne Taylor waived his preliminary hearing in York and didn't have much to say as he began his return to York County Prison.

He'll now head to trial, accused of setting a room at the Rodeway Inn on fire, leaving dozens without a place to stay when it spread.

It happened earlier this month and police say the day after the arson, Taylor contacted them and admitted to it.

He said he used a lighter to set two bed corners on fire because he wanted to go to jail.

Much of the third floor was destroyed and one employee was injured while helping to evacuate people staying at the Rodeway.

In total, Taylor will face charges for arson and 22 counts of reckless endangerment.

He is being held on $750,000 bail, which so far he has been unable to post.
