An update Tuesday on the disappearance of David Lee Hoke.
Police Tuesday recovered clothing near the Middletown boat landing, where Hoke’s car was found unoccupied Friday night.
Things aren't always what they seem.
Police have called Hokes disappearance suspicious since the beginning.
Tuesday, someone called police reporting that there was a body in the river near the Middletown boat landing. But investigators did not turn up anything that can bring closure to this situation.
“A body has not been recovered,” stated one of the investigators on scene.
Among the items found were clothing, which matched a description of something Hoke owned.
Hoke’s fiancé, Samantha Seger, was called to the scene, looking distraught. She told us Monday that Hoke’s bank account was active more than 24 hours after his disappearance.
Police still can't confirm that.
“All that is still under investigation,” officers added.
Hoke’s fiancé and mother are still talking with police. A source close to the situation tells us it is rare to find just clothes only a few days after someone's initial disappearance.
Anyone with information is asked to call Middletown Police Department at 717-558-6900.
