Two people are facing multiple charges after they led police on a chase in a stolen car.
According to East Lampeter Township Police, an officer performing a routine patrol at the Knight's Inn at 2151 Lincoln Highway East noticed a Burgundy GMC Yukon leaving the parking lot.
The officer discovered the car was reported stolen after a burglary in Lancaster City on February 26. The officer tried to stop the car, but the driver accelerated and refused to stop.
Police say the chase continued into West Lampeter Township, where officers from the West Lampeter Township Police Department deployed spike strips. After going through the spike strips, the car continued in the 1800 block of Rockvale Road before going out of control and crashing into a tree.
Officers from both departments took the two males in the car into custody.
Hector Felix Rosa-Lebron, 45, of Lancaster and Daniel R. Charbonneau, 47, of Lititz were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Charbonneau, the passenger was released. Rosa-Lebron remains in the hospital. Rosa-Lebron has been charged with felony receiving stolen property, felony fleeing and attempting to elude police, DUI and numerous traffic violations.
