Keeping on eye on your tax money, even in the months and weeks leading up to forced budget cuts, the Directors of the FBI and Department of Justice have taken taxpayers for a high altitude ride.
The FBI has spent millions since 2001 leasing two corporate-style jets. They are equipped with sophisticated equipment and are considered plush.
The FBI originally leased the planes to take counter terrorism agents to global hot spots at a moments notice.
But the Washington Guardian has discovered that 60 percent of all flight hours were spent taking high power officials, including FBI Director Robert Muller and Attorney General Eric Holder, on business and personal trips at the cost of more than 11 million dollars.
"When you are spending 11 million dollars on personal travel of gulf streams, for personal travel, not for terrorism, don't you think they could cut down on gulf streams," argues Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.
