Business leaders in the Chambersburg area are helping fight Muscular Dystrophy.
On February 7th, Four Points Sheraton hosted a lock-up for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Central PA District of MDA holds several lock-up events a year from State College to the Maryland line, and several cities in between. Residents are encouraged to “turn in” their friends and associates for having big hearts, and MDA issues “fun warrants” for their arrest. The “jailbirds” work closely with MDA “Parole Officers” to raise their target bail of $3,000.
The MDA greatly appreciates the support of Four Points Sheraton for providing the location for the lock-up and Expressions Limousine and Hamilton Hyundai for providing transportation; and Applebee’s, Big Apple Bagel, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Starbucks, and Texas Roadhouse for providing lunch. Our thanks to the Chambersburg area business leaders that participated in the Lock-up Event as well. We are excited to share that the event raised approximately $50,000 for the Association!
MDA is one of the world’s leading volunteer health agencies fostering research and local service programs such as clinic, summer camp, support groups, and repair of durable medical equipment, which are all available to those affected by one of the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA.
